Blog post #2 for Thu, May 7

1) You've arrived at your exchange destination. Write about your feelings - how you got there, who you've met and how you like your school. (50-100 words)

2) On your first day, you're asked to tell others about your country's educational system and make comparisons between that of your destination country. Watch the below video.

Do some online research concerning the educational system of your exchange destination country and write about the differences between the two countries. Mention at least three facts you learned from watching the below video. You can write about things like school habits, uniforms, lunch policies, test scores, teacher qualifications, subjects being offered, whether students enjoy school, etc. (200-250 words)

This is a graded essay and it will affect the grade of the course. Again, leave the address to your blog post as a comment to this post by Thursday, May 7th.

Have fun working!

Blog post #1

Time to begin the journey of your dreams!

1) Start a blog. Go to www.blogger.com and sign in using your school account. You can create a Google+ profile or "rajoitettu Blogger-profiili".

2) Find an English-speaking country you want to go to, a city within this country and a school within the city. Do online research on your exchange destination.

3) Create your first blog post! Reveal your exchange destination. Write about why you chose this country, this city and this school. You can also provide links to the school's/city's website or other related sites. Also write about your hopes concerning the year ahead of you.

  • Write about 100 to 150 words.
  • In addition to the above word count, include a to-do list for your last week before you leave. You can use this as a checklist - maybe you still need to take care of acquiring a couple of these items?.
  • You can include pictures of the school or the city.
  • If you want to, you can divide this post into two or more individual posts, as long as I can tell it's still the preparing stage of your journey.
  • Post the link to your blog in the comment box of this post by the end of the lesson! If you can't finish today, finish it at home and post the link here before tomorrow's lesson.
